Internship Openings

The Lyric Opera of Kansas City marketing department accepts applications for internship candidates for Spring, Summer and Fall semesters.  The department is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2008 semester.  Application deadline is August 7, 2008. 

Position title:
Marketing Intern

Reports to:
Marketing & Communications Manager

Hours:
10-15 hours per week or an agreed upon amount to fulfill the intern’s academic requirements. 

Job Responsibilities/Requirements: 
The marketing internship program is an opportunity for undergraduate or graduate students in communications, marketing, arts management or a related field to gain valid work experience in the non-profit marketing field.  The intern will be responsible for several projects fitting his/her experience and the needs of the marketing department including writing press releases, writing promotional material, maintaining department clip files, assisting with media events, assisting in general research and working on special projects. 

Candidates must demonstrate strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, be available to work special events, and be able to lift 25-50 pounds.  The Lyric Opera of Kansas City office is not handicapped accessible. 

Parking will be provided for the intern and upon the completion of a successful internship, the student will receive two season tickets to the Lyric Opera of Kansas City and an excellent addition to his/her resume.
